Brook Miles, one of Adelaide’s established artists, has been painting murals and artwork most of his life along with sign writing and illustrations. Brook is originally from NSW and after graduating from tech college he set up his own sign writing business in his home town of Picton.
Two years later, he decided to venture on a working holiday around Australia and worked with local artists and sign writers in Airlie Beach and Darwin. After travelling the West Coast, Brook made his way to Adelaide where he settled and now resides.
After painting artwork on city buses and working for various sign companies in Adelaide, Brook created his own business, Aussie Signs. He specialised in murals for Sony music, WEA Records, Warner and EMI as well as one-off designs for the general public on windows and vehicles.
Once graphics and sign writing became digital, Brook turned his focus to painting on canvas which enabled him to continue his passion for visual expression in a more unique and personal way. Brook was introduced to art by his grandfather who was a great inspiration in his life and he misses the real gentleman he was.
When Brook paints, he paints from the heart, retaining the emotional feeling within the image.
“Bring me your memories and let me bring them back in a painting”
